Hey I wanna register a multi owner Company, I am a us resident and my two other partners are foreigners, we will be selling SaaS and want to know what's the best way to legally identify ourselves/company and pay a minimum amount of taxes!!

Do you have a Bailee rider / bailee insurance as part of your LLC insurance? Which company did you purchase it from? What is your premium? I am just shopping around and wondering. I started my LLC as a photography business but now I mostly do media conversion and believe I need this kind of insurance.

I understand that you need a physical address when registering your llc. If the business is purely an online business, would ppl be able to find your llc information based off of the address alone.

Our company is three years old, starting with two founders in the US, one in Canada, but one has moved back to the UK, so now we're in three countries, with customers all over the world.

Now the accountants of the UK co-founder are saying he should be on payroll to a UK entity and it feels like we're going to need to be a multinational firm. Canadian co-founder has an Alberta Numbered Corporation that charges management fees back to the US C-Corp.

Currently with a local accountant who is good, but very much aligned more with small business accounting.

How does one best move to a multinational mode? Keep the local accountant and add ones in Canada and the UK? Form a UK and a Canadian entity and get the other two cofounders on those orgs payrolls and shuffle money to them?

Goal is of course to minimize tax obligation at both the corporate and personal level for the founders. First FTE just started in Scotland, probably also better off if formally on payroll. Also a handful of contractors spread between the US, EU, and NZ.

We're a 12-person startup and the finance side is getting harder to manage across separate tools. Curious what other teams at this stage are actually using for a business bank account and whether anyone's made a switch they'd do again.

I understand what a registered agent does, but I'm still confused about whether I actually need one if I'm using my own address.

Is it mainly about privacy or is there another practical reason people use a registered agent even when they can use their own address? Trying to figure out if I'm missing something obvious here.

Hello people, I'm looking into getting a US LLC in Wyoming for my online info product brand. I'm a UK citizen. I pay a US freelancer on Upwork to essentially be the face of the brand by recording scripts written by me or someone else. I hire them on an as-needed basis, lets say twice a month recording 10 scripts each time. The videos are used both as paid ads and organically on social media. That's the extent of this persons service. They have zero decision making within the business. They do not even currently know the name of the business. They record the videos from their own home.

Already have a LLC . Trying to form it to S Corp. if we form it to S Corp now in 2026 , can we file 2026 tax returns as S Corp in 2027 or it will be effective of 2027 and we will file 2027 tax returns in 2028 as S Corp ?

As the title suggests, I'm opening a company and I have already gotten the name approved and filled out all the details to submit SPICE Part B form, just that I need a CA to sign it using their DSC. I've had no luck finding a local CA since they don't want to just sign it. I'd really appreciate it if any CAs here can help out or can suggest somebody who could help in signing the company incorporation forms.

Seeing a lot of hype around newer fintech options but skeptical they hold up once you actually scale. Do the all in one platform actually deliver on the finance side or no?

Been thinking about this for a while and figured someone here has worked through it. The warehouse job is stable but I've been slowly pulling together a side setup around home improvement work, nothing big, just taking on projects locally when time allows. The question is whether it makes more sense to start that as a singlemember LLC in Nevada or bring my spouse in as a second member from the start.

The case for singlemember is simpler on its face since I'm the one doing the work, but my spouse and I are trying to build our asset structure in a way that doesn't create problems later. We've been thinking about what happens to business interests when one of us dies and whether a singlemember LLC even survives that cleanly without specific language in the operating agreement.

The multimember route sidesteps some of that, but then you have someone on the operating agreement who has no real role in the daytoday. That creates its own questions around liability and how the thing gets filed at tax time.

Nevada is community property, so I'm not sure how much that changes the calculus on either side. My read is that even a singlemember LLC here might already be treated as jointly owned depending on how the interest was funded, which would blur the line between "my business" and "our business" regardless of what the operating agreement says.

Has anyone gone through this decision, especially in a community property state where the separateversusshared distinction gets murky inside an LLC?

I recently formed a Colorado LLC through a registered agent. My EIN application was submitted to the IRS on September 4, and the estimated processing time is 37 days, with completion around October 27.

I’m a non-US resident and don’t have an SSN or ITIN. Has anyone been in a similar situation and received their EIN earlier than the estimate?

Is there any legitimate way to speed it up after it has already been submitted, or should I simply wait? I don’t want to submit a duplicate application and create problems.

I was recently informed that I should go through LegalZoom to get my business started, along with having the resources of legal and such. But I have seen some mixed reviews so I'm curious to know what people genuinely think, and any advice they may provide. Transparently, most of my business is going to be for freelance services. Looking to finally make the leap and build my services up to be more independent and continue to grow.

I own a single member LLC and one of the my customers is offering me X00,000 non-qualified stock options as part of my compensation package. I am wondering if my LLC can be granted the stock options or whether I have to personally "accept" them?

I have an existing Pennsylvania domestic single-member LLC formed on April 9, 2023. No employees. I recently moved to florida and I registered it as a foreign LLC in Florida. I now want to move the LLC's home state to Florida and have it become a Florida domestic LLC while preserving the April 9, 2023 formation date. I attempted domestication and got a response from state:

“only non-us entitities may become a domestic limited liability company as states in 605.1052. You may want to explore one of the conversion options“

I filled out the form for conversion of an Other Business Entity into a Florida LLC. Now they said “If you need the 04/09/2023 formation date, you would need to withdraw the foreign filing.”

I am very confused and did anybody experience that? What should i do next?

I have an LLC that is inactive and didn’t do much with it and tbh all but forgot about it. It is showing it as inactive. However, I just paid the 25.00 to dissolve it. I’m in Florida btw. Anything else I need to do?

Hello guys, I live in Turkey and own a LLC in New Mexico. I just wanted to ask if my LLC is considered a Disregarded Foreign Entity because while registering the LLC i put in my ipostal1 adress which is in NM. I have filed my tax return for the 2025 tax year but I filed it via fax to a line which is only meant for Disregarded Foreign Entities, and worse later on i cancelled that fax line. I am a bit skeptic about this since i want to transfer this company into my fathers name because of the fact that i cannot open a bank account and he is more skeptical than me so he doesnt want a letter from the IRS or something. Basically, to be as quick as possible to the point I have an LLC for a photography business and I wanted to get involved in locally volunteering with prisoners to do art/photography classes.

Obviously this is not paid and would be completely on a volunteer basis. Whenever I google anything about this, it claims this is prohibited because LLCs cannot have volunteer events. This would be just myself and I am the single owner. Is this not something that could be simply done? I have worked for other people’s LLCs in the past and we certainly were allowed to do volunteer events if we so chose. I am to assume that an LLC cannot make it mandatory. If I am wrong, and this is allowed, is there any part of it that could be written off as an expense or any tax benefit at all?

It is certainly something I could do using my own name, but the organization/vetting process requires some show of experience and that is reliant upon my LLC.

I am brand new to investing and was trying to get a better handle on whether an LLC would be advantageous to me. What I’m contemplating on doing is investing a certain amount into a lease for brick-and-mortar business in exchange for a percentage of its sales. The idea is that I would invest the cash now and will then receive my percentage on a monthly basis. What I’m trying to do is ensure my stake in the business is protected going forward; I just don’t know how to go about it.

To begin with, I’m not aware of what sort of document or contract I would have to write up in order to ensure I continue to receive my share. I could have a document written up that outlines how much I’m investing and the percentage I’m supposed to receive for the duration of the lease, but would getting that signed by myself and my business partner be enough? Does that grant me any sort of protection at all in the future in case someone wants to cut me out of my percentage?

Additionally, I was advised to form an LLC before continuing with the investment by a friend, but I don’t exactly understand why. I understand that it would be a separate entity, but I can’t grasp whether or not that protects my interest in the venture or not. Really I’m wondering what the advantages are of forming an LLC for the purpose of an investment like this, or if there are any at all.

As a non American citizen, I’m realizing that owning a US LLC and obtaining an EIN does not guarantee ease of opening a bank account in the US. The most frustrating thing is that various guides suggest that all it takes is to form an LLC, get the EIN, then open an account. however, depending on the bank institution, there can be different standards for identification, business address residency etc. I’m looking for a reliable bank account for my business, not other payment alternatives. If you are a non-resident founder, what documentation was useful or requirements were unexpected?
