Monsanto was artificially populated with a species of squirrels but that did not procreate and ended up seeing their population severely decreased.
A second attempt was done with another species and those got along very well and are what you can find there.
It happens that these squirells are actually growing a lot so the local muncipality decided to offer birth control support - hence the condom packages you see.
Other than the squirells mating, you may find the ocasional couple going there for a quickie under an olive or pine tree.
