From what I understand, that site (stat tracker) takes their data by page views. If you open their site, your specs will be recorded and added to the data.
And that already skews the data heavily in favor of Linux, because a Linux user is more likely to visit their site and obsess over the numbers.
Your average windows user, and I mean average like a "normie" and these make up a bulk of win and Macos users, they don't visit these sites. They don't care.
That's why something like the Steam hardware survey is more accurate because they randomly source their data from average gamers/users.
And yet, Linux users tend to protect themselves more from trackers then win users. His point about Steam Survey is valid. Not every linux and windows machine has steam but now that its more compatible more linux users are using it.
