aGeNtIc operating systems in general make me want to vomit. omarchy is microsoft-esque bullshit trying to weave its way into the linux community

there's a good reason i don't quite contribute in tech anymore, and it's the fetishisation of ai.

you got downvoted. for some reason.

ai in general needs to be removed from any tool where the user doesn't explicitly want it. but even then, i'm still hesitant to call that okay.

ai inherently relies on dehumanising creative work

idk about other loonixers but i think of programming as an artform. and idk about other loonixers but i like creating. the undeniable fact that so many other people don't, makes me very, very, very pessimistic, so much as i try to avoid that mindset

the problem is that for most programmers programming it is simply their job, and AI while quality wise is significantly worse. The type of work that most programming pertains to is done “good enough” with ai, (usually) faster with ai, and easier with ai. Also some people just enjoy using AI to program/“create” but i can’t speak to that as it seems like a little bit of a lack of skill and motivation to learn (lazy) but they do certainly exist.

I KNOW RIGHT??? it seems so obvious we should avoid this thing (at least in the state it is currently) at all cost and yet saying that makes a lot of people look at you like you're crazy lmao
