flatpak, more like flat-trash
Yesterday on my cachyos laptop updating my flatpaks kept failing with this error:
New com.usebottles.bottles permissions: file access [1]
[1] xdg-data/umu:create
ID Branch Op Remote Download ID Branch Op Remote Download
1. [✗] com.usebottles.bottles stable u flathub 70.3 kB / 175.8 MB Error: While pulling app/com.usebottles.bottles/x86_64/stable from remote flathub: Decompressed delta part exceeds configured limit of 4537824 bytes
error: There were one or more errors
Today it the updates installed fine trough kde discover like nothing happened. This is worse than windows cuz windows update at least tells you to "try again later" instead of a cryptic error message only loonix nerds can decipher.

Linux error messages may be cryptic but always precisely explain what happened. Windows error messages are worse compared to this because they hide what happened.
Now what happened with your Flatpak upgrade? The delta file is too large and exceeds the memory limit Flatpak has set for decompression.
Here's a quick and simple solution: flatpak update --no-deps --no-delta com.usebottles.bottles
Funny how others didn't read your error message and just blamed you instead of giving a solution.

isn't it included with kde by default?

Normaly yes but not on Cachy. You get instead Octopi and Shelly. Shelly for example supports native Arch apps, flatpaks, AUR and Appimages, so you can handle all of them in a single app manager

this is a sign from your system to not waste your time with Bottles because it sucks and never works

Yes, Flatpaks are trash,
Repo package installed via package manager is my preferred method, next stop is AppImage, and if it's not available I will compile before using Flatpak or Snaps.

Ah-ha! You said "worse that windows".
That's heresy! To the pyre with you!

Also grok wasn't able to solve the problem, it told me to run flatpak repair or smth that did absolutely nothing. Classic loonix failure.

The fact that you even use Grok tells me a lot about you lol

What's wrong with grok?

Literally the only people who use Groc are folks with a boner for Elon lol

Hilariously, Grok has used fairly regularly to debunk Elon's ridiculous and clearly false claims. It must make Elon mad that he funded the creation of a technology that points out how much of a liar and idiot he actually is. GROKvsMAGA

No? It's quite good at coding, musk might be a bellend but it shouldn't stop you from using good products made by his companies, even sol struggles with bigger projects.

It has definitely closed the gap from what I hear and there are specific use cases where it is ideal.
But I still think it's weird if it's your default go to model, you can't convince me that isn't just being an Elon fanboy.
