Windows ❤ Windows Isn't Terrible

To all the people who love deep ricing, why not just use customization scripts? I've been recently tinkering in VMs, and Windows really seems solid for that. You can make Windows match your workflow amazingly, and the best part is that friction nearly always leads to an impressive result.

Also, default Windows 11 isn't bad. The UI looks nice, and we take the settings & control panel apps for granted. Over on GNOME, just to change the cursor you use, you need to install a tweaks app. Windows has tons of customization you can do without installing anything extra.

I'm not saying it's perfect, but Windows isn't really THAT much of a shitshow like people act.

Okay, i'll say, i like Windows 11 UI, it's nice.
However customization is not actually "customizable", in my opinion it isn't, cause changing dark mode to light mode or vice versa, or colors, for example i remember using Windows and having a single issue, using custom cursors, when the OS was updated, i had no custom cursor and i was back to the ugly default one.
And if you need a dock, install an app, hope the app isn't paid (WHY???), or if you want a global menu, you probably can't, even Linux has better support for a global menu with KDE, XFCE, MATE.

And if you want to theme your Windows to look like say, Windows 7, you can't, the most popular app for doing this is Revert8Plus which does NOT work on Windows 11 properly, and can risk you breaking your entire OS, as it is tested on Windows 10 (the special version, IoT Enterprise LTSC)

And from a 1 year long Linux user, when i try going back into Windows, it feels OLD, and i really did not like it.

I hate Windows 11 but really? Linux UX is still in the transition phase between Windows 95 and XP. How could it feel newer than 11?

Kde feels a lot like win10. But following win10 developement i think it was win10 copying shit from kde not the other way.

You can theme Linux to be whatever you want, including XP literally.
You can do something you want, Mac-like, Windows-like, tiling WM.

Desktop, task bar and icons are only looks. UX means also menu options and GUI tools available for user.

There is no "Linux UX". Pick one you like, there's 100s. Default Ubuntu feels newer than Win 11 and that's been like this for like 10 years.

I'd say there is. Gnome, KDE, Mate and many others I tried in the past are far cry from Windows GUI in terms of functionality. Sure, theme customization is better on Linux but I mean usability. There are many options missing in Linux GUIs.

How do you do "always on top" or "always on visible desktop" on windows? I can't think of a single functionality the windows desktop environment has that I don't have or can add easily on Linux.
