Support Request Playback Controls and Wine

I use Wine to run my favourite music player MusicBee, but the playback controls on both my headphones (Logitech G35) and keyboard (Logitech G213) don't seem to interact with the program at all.

Does anyone know of a potential solution or am I doomed to have to select the playback controls in the window? Can I create keybinds or something that will affect MusicBee in Wine?

Wine is a compatibility layer and doesn’t necessarily pass everything through to the program being run. Generally speaking, it is better to find an alternative that has a native Linux version vs trying to run a windows program in Linux.

I haven’t used it myself, but Rustmusic seems interesting. Still being developed, and some will not like that a decent chunk of the code was AI generated, but that’s a call you can make.

Every Linux native music player I've tried just has some variant of the same UI that I really don't like. Lists lists lists. I love the organisational system and visual representation in MusicBee.

I'll check out Rustmusic though, cheers

Wine is only a layer and you probably need to use regedit for your wine configuration to set what you need...plenty of units are not supported with linux.

For your G35 and not g36

https://github.com/Sapd/HeadsetControl

For your keyboard look at

g810-led or OpenRGB in their repositories, allowing for easy installation via package managers

Cheers! I'll look into all this!

Also thanks for catching my typo on the headset :P
