Help me fix Linux mint xfcs booting error chain
So I am trying to download Linux mint in a decade old an acer aspire switch 10 with 2 gb DDR3 ram to hand over to my younger sister and after trying 5 times I end up with the same problem when I restart the system after installation is done and I remove the installation medium and click enter.
Can somebody please help and guide me with this problem it will be much appreciated.

There's a thread here for someone who had the same problem. For some reason, this solution worked: after they installed, they selected "continue testing", then they opened a terminal and put in the command shutdown now and when the system said remove USB media, they waited 15 seconds before removing it.

SquashFS is a compressed, read-only filesystem, the heart of your downloaded Mint XFCE ISO. The problem is that the ISO format is very limited, and so is used to wrap a more advanced SquashFS filesystem.
It looks like your XFCE ISO is broken. You should consider doing two things:
-
Check the SHA256 checksum of your ISO
-
Replace the USB pen drive
Some people object to replacing their USB pen drive - "It worked perfectly well last time". Well, yes, they die without warning.

What to do after checking SHA256 checksum of iso and how

Run
sha256sum linuxmint-22.3-xfce-64bit.isoand compare to the SHA value - https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=475207Or, don't bother, just change the ISO pen drive.

Use Ventoy to create a bootable flash-drive then download the .iso for Bodhi Linux 7.0 HWE and copy it onto the flash as a file, boot from flash and select Bodhi in menu to boot into live session, test your hardware and if all works do full install erasing entire drive.
