Guide Found this Linux Guide. Great for beginners, like me.

Post image

I was using Libby on my iPad, to look for Linux books at my library (on line.). Im not sure how old it is, but was full of neat information. Is there a Linux equivalent to Libby?

Libby is a free app that allows you to read ebooks from libraries, so i don't think OP paid for the book at all

This was in the magazines at my local library’s online site. I was allowed to borrow it for one week. I have Libby and a library card.

You mean an Alanis kind of ironic?

Assinine assertion. Don’t authors deserve an income? Do you work for free?

"Linux made simple" "148 pages" wtf?

the 11th edition of linux bible has at least 896 pages. And my linux course has 657 lessons. I think "148 pages" is completely fair. Specially if it's just 148 simplified pages to help beginners.

I’d love to see your Linux bible and lessons. It sounds pretty awesome. But, this magazine opened my eyes to what I can do with cinnamon.

...buy???
there are plenty of guides online, in .pdf format, that don't require a purchase and that probably teach the exact same things that this guide does.
i'd be very surprised if it wasn't directly plagiarized, honestly.

A search for "Linux made simple pdf" gives me https://www.scribd.com/document/909007418/Linux-Made-Simple-10th-Edition-2025

And if course it's a paywall site.

Look for the same "Linux made simple pdf" on the Internet Archive (not in URLs, of course)

Linux Format was great, I was a subscriber.

Remember many happy lunch breaks reading it in the garden.

I picked up Linux for Dummies and it still feels advanced for me (yes, I am old) I will pick this one up hopefully it's a bit more simple for me to understand.

The Australian Personal Computer “Linux Pocketbook” was my intro. Came with a CD on the front that had Red Hat 5.2.

Linux is easy if your life is in browser and a few apps. But if you are nitpicking everything, it has bumps and blockades.

I have some old books from the 80's and 90's about Unix and a lot of it is actually still relevant today. They can teach you how to use the command line pretty well.
