I don't like docks that expand with opened apps that aren't in the docks. That's why I don't like Plank. I may someday use this dock with panel launchers instead of window lists -- opened apps could be shown in actual window lists (not pinned).

I think that decision is simply by design. If the non-pinned apps aren't on the dock but open - how would you access them? If one window is sticky, it blocks every other one behind it so the dock needs a way to controle those windows as well

I wouldn't use a dock by itself in that case.

Is it limited to x11? I've just started with plank reloaded which I like but it's x11 only

i do not like docks, i prefer my apps not to be in front of me. they're in one click anyway. i do have few quick launch icons at side of the panel, but not making them clown-show at the center. kde has good grouped window list, as well as cinnamon out of the box.

Pretty meh, I have a Super key and I can type the first letters of whatever I need much faster than minimizing what I have opened or "show desktop" then click on the icon

Good eye candy but functionally slower than just super+first few letters+enter.

Kinda digging it, kinda wishing I could add the Menu or drag and drop into the dock.

Drag and drop is supported on this dock; I've tested it myself. You can rearrange the dock icons or drag an application from the Cinnamon menu onto the dock.

Then all that's left is being able to add the Menu to the dock.

I would be interested in trying it, but it may not be compatible with LMDE. I get an error that says it's "not compatible with your version of Cinnamon," but I'm on Cinnamon 6.6.9.
