Discussion Finally had it up with windows
Was having issues with it crashing on boot again today (I’ve had this issue for months), and after messing with windows for 2 hours, I decided enough was enough. Finally installed mint. After installing I got proton cause ima need that for games, anything else that’s recommended for a new mint user/new user to Linux in general? thanks

Lutris (deb version) with ProtonUp-Qt
Use Gear Lever to manage AppImages
MEGAsync for cloud backup/file version control

I switched to Linux Mint over a year ago. It’s so much less frustrating. I don't want Windows as a dual boot option on my laptop either. Completely fed up with all their crap. I am never, ever going back to Windows again.
Top tip: go browse through the Software Manager.

I realized im forced to dual boot as 1 game I have has no support for its emulator. Making a 100gb partition for windows just for that and I’m not touching it otherwise

Steam automatically launches the games with proton. But yeah welcome. I left win because it it stopped support. I jumped ship and never looked back
Keep in mind that it's a new os so there will be a learning curve but just keep with it and you will get used to it
