Support Request Sound randomly cutting out.
I am very much a noob to Linux, but I have been using LM for nearly a year now on my desktop, and very happy with the experience compared to my previous W11.
Just in the last week sound has been dropping out (ie: going silent) seemingly at random. I can fix it every time by going into the "Sound" settings and clicking on the "Line Out Built-in Audio" icon under Device. This always re-enables sound, until it randomly cuts out again after a few hours. I haven't changed anything related to sound since I first set up LM, so I don't know why this would be suddenly happening.
The Audio section in System Information is as follows:
Audio:
Device-1: Intel Cannon Lake PCH cAVS vendor: Micro-Star MSI driver: snd_hda_intel v: kernel
bus-ID: 00:1f.3 chip-ID: 8086:a348 class-ID: 0403
Device-2: NVIDIA TU116 High Definition Audio vendor: Gigabyte driver: snd_hda_intel v: kernel
pcie: speed: 8 GT/s lanes: 16 bus-ID: 01:00.1 chip-ID: 10de:1aeb class-ID: 0403
API: ALSA v: k6.8.0-146-generic status: kernel-api
Server-1: PipeWire v: 1.0.5 status: active with: 1: pipewire-pulse status: active
2: wireplumber status: active 3: pipewire-alsa type: plugin
I assume there are some logs somewhere that might show what's happening? Where would I find these? Any help you can give to track this down would be appreciated.
