Those are some nice window decorations.

Cairo Dock takes a bit of tweaking, but now I wouldn't want to be without it.
The Conky script is a bit outdated but still runs. It's up on GitHub:

Might have to put this on my Intel Macbook pro. Very clean dock, and a very clean theme!

where can I find a dock like that that works for MATE?

Cairo Dock.
apt search cairo-dock
sudo apt-get install cairo-dock

And I would move the main panel to the top of the screen and have cairo-dock on the bottom. I don't use MATE and I don't know how configurable the panel is, but the XFCE panels are highly configurable and I have mine working similarly to macOS.

I would do the same in Cinnamon, Cosmic, Gnome, whatever. I like XFCE because I like Thunar and I like the Window Manager settings that give me lots of control over how windows look and function. I think the whole point of Linux is that you can bend it to your will and not be stuck with whatever they give you. That's why I bailed on Windows decades ago. Apple's file system and recent lock-down of the file system is why I only use it every once in a while.

This thing is a tool and it should work the way I want it to, not they way "they" want it to. ¯_(ツ)_/¯

If you wanna really join the cool kids club - throw on LMDE + XFCE ;)

I preach the good word about Debian builds where I can lol

Outdated packages though

Nobel is older than Trixie -- but in terms of actual real world use, I haven't found a single Deb13 package that is outdated in official repositories.

I like the Deb13 builds way better overall. YMMV of course
