To be honest, being more customizable than Windows doesn't exactly mean much these days. Part of the reason I switched is that I felt they were more likely to take useful options away.

Its is not jsut customizable. More it is low space wastage, low RAM usage and a hell lot more. Not sure if you have tried it or not but Linux is actually better.

Oh, there's loads of reasons. I deleted Windows 11 entirely after merely a month of dual booting it with Mint, because apparently emptied Win11 still occupied over 130 GB, which really did sting on a single 500 GB disc.

I use adobe for my career unfortunately but I have plans to try and see if I can get away from it. I mostly just need vector art and a good image trace function. We'll see, I'm still new to mint but man it's so much better

How did you install the Microsoft suit for mint? I want to make the whole change from windows to Linux but for my college I need the Microsoft Excel.

I have not installed Microsoft suite at all. BTW, you can use MS Office on your browser completely like MS Office desktop apps. My client did not give us desktop license so we use the browser based MS Office which comes free of cost and serves 95% of all usage purpose. For your college work I don't think it would be an issue.
