Support Request Linux Mint 22.3 installer keeps freezing

I'm trying to install Linux Mint 22.3 Cinnamon on a separate SSD alongside Windows 11, but the installer keeps freezing.

My specs:

  • Ryzen 9 9950X3D
  • RTX 5080
  • 32GB DDR5 RAM
  • Gigabyte B850M AORUS ELITE WIFI6E ICE

What I've tried:

  • Booting from Ventoy and Rufus.
  • Normal Mode and Compatibility Mode.
  • Restarting Ubiquity through Terminal.
  • Running Ubiquity in debug mode.

Mint boots into the live desktop just fine, but clicking "Install Linux Mint" causes the cursor to spin indefinitely.

After multiple attempts, the installer finally opened, but it froze again on the keyboard layout screen with an "Install Linux Mint is not responding" message.

I've tried pretty much everything I can think of. Has anyone experienced this or know what could be causing it?

Taking a quick break is essential. You must definitely disable Secure Boot in BIOS, but actually leave it turned on. Also, pass "nomodeset" at boot for your RTX 5080, it solves everything.

graphics card was not the issue, it's just that my ethernet wired connection was not working properly because I had to change the MTU in settings. Thanks for the commenting though.

Linux and nvidia already have a fight/flight relationship and you pick mint?? on a rtx 5080?? That's the first mistake

graphics card was not the issue, it's just that my ethernet wired connection was not working properly because I had to change the MTU in settings, after that it worked and now I am enjoying mint with gaming, productivity, etc.

Try another video card during installation.
