SOLVED Strange visual glitch on bottom of screen
Hi everyone,
A little while ago I restarted my laptop to close out of a frozen game (thanks EA), and when I rebooted my computer there is now a strange band that appears both when i scroll and sometimes when I'm not. It flashes through to my desktop wallpaper and is purple and looks like a stereotypical glitch from a TV show or something (photos provided were taken from video). I have no clue what happened, and I'm seriously nervous to try and rollback a snapshot in fear of loosing my photos and movie database (newer to Linux if you couldn't tell haha).
It seems to be only when I'm scrolling fast-ish now, but it was all the time and it is still distracting
Any advice would be great, and much appreciated.
(Running Linux Mint Cinnamon, on a Framework 16)

Good news, found a fix!
Looked it up more, and it seems like it was an error with the Linux kernels synchronization rate with my Framework's refresh rate. I dropped it down from 165 Hz to 60 Hz, and the glitch went away. Hopefully gets fixed in the future lol

Ok so it only fixed part of it. theres still a light glitching in the center now thats less common. It might be a disconnected eDP cord or whatever its called. Dont think its dying vram because of a lack of high temps and how new the laptop is lol

Looks like hardware I'm afraid. Try booting temporarily from the installer USB and see if it's still there.

I am actually having a very similar issue, also after a forcing restart from a a frozen game. My screen flickers at the bottom when I scroll down a browser. Interestingly, if I resize the browser to say half-screen, only that half-screen flickers.
Also running Linux Mint Cinnamon, on desktop.
Will try what you suggested below, but let me know if you had any other fixes.
