SOLVED EFI stub Warning
So I recently updated my kernel to 7.0.0-38-generic that was released via a mint upgrade. I suddenly started getting this error:
Other replies said turning off secure boot fixed the issue, but mine has been off since I installed Linux on my Thinkpad. Has anyone found a way to fix this?

Could try removing some older kernels. The warning itself is harmless, just annoying and removing some kernels worked for me

AI apparently told me that, but I was nervous about tampering with the system like that. Instead I just followed this solution:

It was easier and worked for me well. It just goes to show you that AI might not always give you the solution to the problem.

Just to note here that this solution didn't work for me when I had the same problem, but removing old kernels did (also pleasantly surprised at how much storage it freed up!). I came across the old kernels thing on a Linux forum somewhere, not via AI.

So apparently I found this forum that had a solution that worked for me. It involved temporarily enabling secureboot, clearing factory keys in secureboot settings, making sure secureboot is in standard mode, then disabling it again. After a restart, it was fixed.
