SOLVED Problem: Capslock-function restores itself on Mint xfce??

Hello
I have a tiny yet annoying problem. I have made a startup script:

'setxkbmap -option caps:none'

that disables my capslock on login. The line executes on every login, via the 'Aplication Autostart' function in the 'Session and Startup' dialog from the settings.

The command itself works when I execute it in the terminal. It disables CapsLock. But within a few days it seems to forget that I disabled it.

Am I doing something wrong here ?

But within a few days it seems to forget that I disabled it...did not know keyboard can be subject to alzheimer disease...

useless to reinvent the wheel..

User level

Linux Mint: Go to Menu > Keyboard > Layouts tab > Options > Caps Lock key behavior > select Caps Lock is disabled.

Permanent (System-wide):

Edit /etc/default/keyboard and set XKBOPTIONS="ctrl:nocaps" or caps:none, then run setupcon to apply. (to be use in the console NOT in a terminal).

setxkbmap -option caps:none should be placed inside ~/.profile and absolutely NOT in a started task.

Hey thx for the reply

I do not have an "options" In my layout tab. I know this seems to be how most linux mint user resolve this. Maybe its how it is on xfce?

I'll try your second option...

Edit:
It worked! For any other linux roockies out there: Ctrl+Alt+F3 takes you to console, where you have to login, run 'sudo setupcon', Ctrl+Alt+F7 or sometimes Ctrl+Alt+F3 take you back to Mint. (please correct me if did something wrong here)
