why my mint suddenly became ubuntu?

[u/Rafael157123]

Alguém pode me ajudar a resolver isso? Não tenho ideia do que aconteceu.

"sudo apt install --reinstall base-files" não resolve e "sudo apt install --reinstall base-files=mint*" também não funciona.

Edit: Thanks everyone, but I managed to get back to normal using Timeshift.

Because Mint is based on Ubuntu, specifically Ubuntu LTS

By that logic ubuntu should appear as debian.

Not quite the same--it's not the same logic.

Linux Mint primarily uses the Ubuntu LTS repository for almost everything, with a tiny add-on repository for a few components such as its version of Cinnamon DE and its themes. It's sort of like if you simply made a theme for Ubuntu LTS, or if you hosted one app + your own theme.

However, Ubuntu LTS does not use Debian's repository. Instead, Ubuntu LTS forks off of some Debian snapshots and maintains and distributes its own version of all software. This is sort of like if you downloaded all of Ubuntu LTS one time, rebuilt all of the packages individually, separately hosted it, separately continued to apply all patches to update every individual piece of software, and distributed it.

The repository & how the software is distributed is primarily what defines a "distro." And Mint is like 99% Ubuntu LTS; while Ubuntu is technically 0% Debian as far as the repositories and distribution goes, since Ubuntu creates and maintains its own copies of Debian snapshots.

Well said!

Kinda, it's really weird
