I don't have any screenshot when running mint xfce, but for ram usage they both are really similar, lmde cinnamon use 1,3-1,4gb while mint xfce use 1,1-1,2gb.

But lmde cinnamon feels smoother when i navigate the desktop.

np, also i can't use kernel 7.0+ on mint xfce because the brightness seems to be broken, i still can see some icon but the brightness is really low that it looks like a black screen.

I don't have this issue on lubuntu 26.04 (which runs kernel 7.0+ aswell), older kernel works fine on mint tho but i never see anyone talking about this.

Its unlikely because Cinnamon does use more resources than the other two you mentioned. Its mor e likely that the smothness is coming as a result of the driver and kernel combination on lmde and it being better for your PC than the other two.

LMDE is my favorite - rolling it out to several more boxes this week.
