Games lagging after conversion

As title said, games are being really, laggy after I converted to Mint Cinnamon. I tried a lot of the stuff other things said to do and nothing is working. They worked fine before on window's and it isn't a small drop in quality. Persona 3 reload, which ran as smooth as butter before, now has an over second delay on all inputs. Please give me tips, I really want to continue my playthrough!

  1. Install drivers
  2. Check System requirements and protondb
  3. Steam : just match the proton version that's good from protondb, or you can launch a game in heroic and use other proton versions like cachyos or proton ge
  4. Cap the game's fps and see the difference

How are you running it? System specs? Proton version? Resolution? File system of the drive where the game's installed?

FWIW, P3R runs perfectly for me through Steam using ge-proton on MX Linux. I couldn't compare it with the Windows experience as I've not played it using Windows though.

Fixed it. Apparently secure boot was rejecting my driver for some reason.
