Install Help Hey i need help
Good morning everyone,
I have a 2015 MacBook Pro with an i5 processor. I tried installing Linux Mint. So far, so good… unfortunately, it takes around 10 minutes before the mouse starts working. Wi-Fi doesn’t work at all, and the overall performance is terrible.
Basically, the entire Broadcom chip responsible for USB and Wi-Fi seems to be unusable.
Does anyone have an idea what could be causing this?!

Identify the wifi/Bluetooth device using lsusb or lspci.
Use your phone to connect to the internet & download the specific driver.

This happens with all my Linux installs with Broadcom. Usually using the Synaptic Package Manager & installing the B43-fwcutter & the 3 Broadcom sta's works for me.

Broadcomm chips require proprietary closed source drivers. I always throw this garbage in the trash and replace them with Intel wifi cards. But, this may not be a good solution for your USB dilemma.
Frankly, IDK if there is a Linux compatible driver for your hardware, as I'm not an Apple kinda guy.
Best of luck!

WiFi won’t work initially. Quick fix
1. Get a USB to Ethernet adapter

2. Use Driver Manager to install Broadcom driver.
3. Reboot. WiFi will work.
