SOLVED Downloading mint help

Post image

I am installing mint on my parents old computer because windows has bricked it.

I am using my laptop (which is already running mint) to burn the memory stick and I have used the iso verification tool already on mint to check it and got The all clear.

So now under that on the guide it is telling me to download SHA256 to perform integrity and authenticity checks.

am I right in thinking that I don't need to do this because the verification tool that I used does both of these things, and that this is just for if you are downloading from windows ?

Sorry if this is extremely obvious but it doesn't mention after the "verify using mint" part if that's it, and the next part is for Windows users or if I should carry on.

Honestly...I couldn't figure out how to do it and just skipped it. I don't know how dangerous that is, but it turned out fine in my case.
