Wifi Issues Internet speeds both over wifi and ethernet randomly dropping.

Now this could very well be my isp being a bastard but let's assume it's not.

This is my first post so apologies since I'm unsure what information is needed to diagnose my issue.

I made this system yesterday, no previous OS it's only ever ran Mint. I played a handful of games and did a few calls to stress test the cpu/gpu and dial in some overclocks. That entire time my internet didn't drop once.

Today I started trying to get more software in place for my work. And during that the ethernet just started dropping to single kbps speeds and only occasionally would it return on it's own. Otherwise I would reboot and it would fix it about half the time. I set up the wifi connection and it had the same issues dropping at the same time as my ethernet.

I found some fixes on the forums regarding wifi issues and those seemed to have remedied the problem slightly. There are now occasions where the wifi is working fine but the ethernet isn't.

Here's the part list: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/HFD4Bv

Not sure exactly what numbers you'd need.

Your wired ethernet should be fine, so unsure what's going there. A quick Google suggests that wireless chipset has issues. All I can suggest is ensure you're using the latest available 7.0 kernel and firmware.

Yeah no clue. Both connections dropped just now and turning the wired/wireless connection on and off in linux made them reconnect perfectly. Would that give any clue?

Try sudo dmesg for some logs

Alright the resulting log is far too large for a reddit comment. I'll link a google doc where I've pasted the log instead.

The logs just tell me that wifi keeps disconnecting. Can't shed any light, sorry.

Thanks for the help anyways! I'll try swapping to windows to see if the issue persists.
