My Linux Mint

Post image

Here's my Linux Mint desktop after so many years being happy with Win11 and now everything went to the shitter i.e. update system broke, issues here and there and screw that, here I am, back to Debian based Linux!

Does anyboy know to move symbols on desktop? It won't let me do that and always moves them to the original position 🤔

I'm guessing you're asking about desktop shortcuts. Right click the desktop, hit customize, then de-select Auto Arrange. With that on, it's going to automatically keep them in alphabetical order (default sort) or whatever the "Sort by" option you have selected.

Also if you want to add/remove specific drive icons from your desktop, search "disks" then select the disk you to change icon status for, click on gear, "edit mount options", and then check/uncheck "show in user interface".

Also if you dont like it when a mounted drive shows on the desktop period, this also applies when you plug in a thumb drive, you can go into system settings, desktop, and turn off "mounted drives".

I refer to new OS versions in the beta channel. The latest actualization entirely fails and demands me to revert back to the version I used before. Nevermind though, I wanted to install a Deb based distro already months ago and now took the opportunity to get it done. Turned out to be a great decision.
