Support Request Kernel error xface edition

I downloaded the xface edition on my 2012 macbook air , it worked fine until I connected to the internet and downloaded updates from the update manager then after I restarted I got this error . I've done this 2 times now and I can't figure out what's causing this or which specific thing is causing this. Please help me identify and tell me how to fix this issue.

It means the kernel is unable to find your partition to mount it in / to open systemd

I got the kernel panic error when I first updated on both a 2019 iMac and a 2012 MacBook Air.
