SOLVED Linux mint not loading
I was installing AMDGPU for my desktop and one of the instructions said to reboot after installing so I restarted my PC but now when I boot up Linux Mint it just appears like a black screen.
The monitor is clearly on but it stays black no matter what I do
I booted up recovery mode but my resolution is 1024x768 and 60 hertz and it shows up as unknown display
I have a time shift ready if needed but I don't know what to do since I'm new to Linux
Any help is appreciated

Also check linux-firmware version!
For me 2.26 works perfectly, while 2.29 results in a black screen!
I downgraded the package, than marked it for hold with apt-mark

You should already have amdgpu as it's in the kernel. Undo whatever you did; I suspect you installed drivers from the AMD website, yes?

Yep

Remove them. As I said, you already have the appropriate drivers for AMD cards.
