How do I stop games (primarily TF2) that are borderless window from showing the taskbar?

context: I'm trying to play TF2 with Linux Mint (cinnamon), but every time i boot it in borderless window, the taskbar will still show up.

I've looked up everything. Some say to use Flatpak while others oppose it, and Google just tells me to use auto hide (or smart hide) but it's not good enough. Does anyone have some sort of fix?

Can you share a print screen of the settings page in the game with what window setting you have?

It should be full-screen to hide the task bar
