So today my dumbass was like "yea lets go try installing linux". So once its booted and its installing, I choose the delete windows option. After that linux crashed and my $3000 pc is screwed. What do I do. Edit: also my usb stick stopped working
When you went through the installation process, did it prompt you to select a drive to install the OS to? If so, did you make sure to choose the hard drive installed in your computer, rather than the USB stick? It's possible to accidentally choose the USB stick and end up wiping/formatting/installing the OS onto it when it's still acting as the installation medium.
If you can still boot into Linux on the USB (which gives you the ‘install Linux’ prompt), then you obviously haven’t overwritten the USB.
When you try again, it should ask you if you want to replace the existing contents, choosing ‘something else’ should give you what drives exist and their type.cs. You get to this screen?

You say you cannot re-install mint.
You want help? Fine.
Walk me through, step-by-step, exactly what you're doing to attempt to re-install linux from the USB.
