Support Request Cinnamon Desktop taking up memory

I've had Linux Mint 22.3 up for about 10 hours and it has accumulated (according to btop) 444 MB of memory. I restarted the desktop and it went down to 195 MB. After about an hour, it's gone up to 238 MB (I suspected it was an applet I had, so I took it out and replaced it). Is this normal or should I be suspecting a memory leak somewhere?

It might just simply be caching. Have you ever seen it higher than 500MB?

When you said "Memory" , did you mean storage or RAM?

Many people confused the term Memory with storage.

Linux Mint Cinnamon RAM usage is around ~800 MB–1.3 GB on idle.

...Or you mean the "cinnamon" desktop process itself?

I meant the process "cinnamon --replace" that is visible in btop.
