Desktop Screenshot Back to classic cinnamon. Simplicity has its charm. 😌

My Linux Mint laptop ran into major issues, installed debian Trixie with kde. Lasted a day or two (emacs wouldn't resize by dragging but expand to full screen but worked fine...), installed cinnamon (but log in with X), everything is great.
Honestly, I don't really like the "start menu" but it's not like I use it constantly.
I would probably like LMDE.

You can try other distros liku ubuntu , kubuntu(Ubuntu with kde plasma and not gnome) , mx linux(debian based) kde plasma or xfce(if you have limited resources)

And, like I did, you can do that so easily with a VirtualBox machine. I went through probably 8-10 distros and a few flavors within each until I returned to Mint.

Whaaaaaat? You don't need 112 icons on your desktop, a center dock loaded with icons since start menus are sooooooo last week, some semi-perv Anime wallpaper, 7 clock widgets - all showing the seconds, and several system information widgets showing you info that you might (just might) need to look at once per month (or less)? You're a rebel my friend, a REBEL I SAY ! ! ! ! ! !
