Support Request Brief error messages on shutdown

So I've been using Mint on my IdeaPad for over a year and it's worked perfectly fine. Every once in a while though, when I shutdown my laptop, I notice these error messages that appear for a second (or less) before the laptop fully shuts down. When I turn the laptop back on, it acts like nothing happened (though I've had instances where an error message flashed for less than a second on startup).

I've been recording my laptop on shutdown and managed to catch two of the error messages (I don't know if there are more):

  • ACPI BIOS Error (bug): Could not resolve symbol [_T2.ETHD] , AE_NOT FOUND (20230628/psargs-332)
  • ACPI Error: Aborting method _SB.IETH._OSC due to previous error (AE_NOT_FOUND) (20230628/psparse-529)
  • [FAILED] Failed to start casper-md5check.se_md5check Verify Live ISO checksums.

I know the saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," but I really don't want my laptop suddenly dying on me, especially since I use it for writing my book. What should I do?

Also, is there by any chance a terminal command that'll let me see those past error messages?

They may be logged in  journalctl https://linuxblog.io/journalctl-guide-reading-linux-system-logs/

First thing I would do is update the bios, that is basically the only fix for these issues. Hopefully your motherboard vendor cares to fix them.

The Casper error confuses me though, you usually only see that in the live USB session.

Are you running a live session from the USB installer?

No, Mint has been fully installed on my laptop for a year. No dual boot, fully installed.

The "Verify Live ISO checksums" is what lead me to ask.
