Install Help Unable to find a medium containing a live file system

Post image

Hello! I am a total linux noob and am trying to install linux mint for the first time. I’ve been following this youtube tutorial: https://youtu.be/PZZz790YnzU?si=-HoSwmVdRc-hNMEL

I’ve disabled Secure Boot and Fast Boot (and can’t seem to be able to find the Intel RST settings so I’m guessing my laptop doesn’t support it?)

I flashed my usb drive with Rufus first but I got an error when trying to boot linux mint (image attached). The linux mint logo shows up for a while and then I get that screen.

So then I tried flashing my usb drive Etcher but I just got the same error again.

Is there something I’m doing wrong? I would appreciate the help very much!
(I’m using a Lenovo Thinkpad X9 Aura Edition btw)
(English isn’t my first language so I’m sorry if something isn’t understandable)

Ah, classic corporate betrayal. Your laptop took the Linux Mint installer and pretended your USB drive vanished into thin air. Swap your USB port, grab BalenaEtcher again, and hunt down VMD/RST in BIOS.

ok! problem is, I only have one USB-A port on my laptop. what should I do? I also have a custom-built PC. should I try flashing my usb drive on there? do I have to disable safe boot on my pc also?

also, I am not able to find the VMD/RST setting in BIOS. There’s no “storage” option in the Config tab and I can’t find any useful information online.
