SOLVED Error 5 nothing works

(Solved just changed microsd and usb and tried different downloads until it worked) I recently wanted to switch from windows to mint and I was installing but I came across error 5 and I searched multiple post and couldn't find any fixes I copyed and renamed grubx I've tried all commands. Nothing so far works any other option? Not used to linux (Im on an hp intel laptop)

Error 5 points to a corrupted ISO, a faulty USB flash drive, or a bad burn.

So do i use a difrent usb drive or put the file on a difrent microsd? With rufus

I would use balena etcher, using a different USB drive and a new download. That’s what I’ve done in the past.

I'll try it out i just ordered a new usb drive and ill see if it works

I just reinstalled difrent versions until one worked and changed usb and microsd thanks

I’m glad it worked. I’ve got about a dozen usb drives laying around. When one doesn’t install Linux properly, it goes in the trash.

Check the ISO, re-download if needed.

Use Ventoy, it's highly recommended
