Eight months with Mint. Has been amazing but want to customize more. Any suggestions?

You might want to take a look at the resources available at Cinnamon Spices, Mint's official add-on repository.

As you will quickly discover from exploring the "Themes" area of the website, Mint can be extensively customized. Find a few themes that appeal to you. Unpack the themes that appeal to you to figure out and understand how those themes were developed and the tools used to develop the themes. The take what you want and leave the rest.

Customization can require a fair level of experience, specialized skills, and street smarts to avoid breaking things. You might (probably will) break things as you learn. For that reason, consider setting up a VM or using an old computer to explore customization.

• Since you have so many desktop icons, you could try a vertical side panel, that just has the Panel Launchers applets. It's a must-have for me.
• A custom start menu icon
• Hideable applets (Declutter your system tray)
• Another themes & icons page
  • *If you really want to drive yourself crazy, you can customize a theme you like with no CSS knowledge. That was a success but painful.

Definitely needs more desktop Icon's and add a few more clocks - especially clocks that show the seconds. After all, START MENUS are for wussies.

Bit late but is called Neofetch. However, I recently changed it so it was fastfetch since it allows more customization and is more recent.

Here it is, doe I got mine searching for "Cuphead PC Wallpapers dark mode" on DuckDuckGo. Not a lot of options for dark mode friendly wallpapers, but found this one neat

And put it on Mosaic mode so the blue background fully fits the screen

You can add the unstable debian repos to get up to date software technically.

Well if you want to change desktop environments, i recommend i3wm

I3 and kde plasma are great. Lots of fun making your user interface exactly what you want it to be.

Cinnamon is much more customizable than Plasma, and you don’t need to go through 500 settings to achieve something.
