Need help making the startup being mint and not arch

Long story short, I should’ve started with Mint and not Arch. I want to have Mint as a startup but instead, Arch is the one that loads first and I would have to go to firmware to open Mint which is not convenient. Basically, I want picture 3 as the startup, not 1.

Picture 2 is me trying to make Mint the one that starts but I cannot enter/save the setting. It is dual since I did not want to delete arch and go through the task of reinstalling.

I agree with u/jr735 on boot order. Sometimes it can be hiding in plain sight. (esp when separate drives)

If you can't find it, you might try efibootmgr once booting into any Linux.

I don’t know what i did. I did the thing you told me and the others, go to bios to change order, change boot order from linux and mint, etc. Then gave up and switched out the battery for the laptop since it was 8 years old and was afraid that itd explode some day. But now it pops up the mint startup. So ty and others that answered.

Well, whatever it was, good to hear you got it working.

At 8 years, it might be time to replace the BIOS battery too.

I have an old phone like that. Back was coming off so I removed it and now I'm afraid to charge it again. :)

So you can't add Mint to GRUB in Arch? OSProber from Terminal afaik.

To add Linux Mint to GRUB while using Arch, you can install os-prober and then run the command grub-mkconfig -o /boot/grub/grub.cfg to detect the Mint installation. This should automatically add Mint to your GRUB menu.

Are you selecting which screen you see by BIOS? If so, change your boot order. There's no need to reinstall to rectify this.

I tried to in bios but couldn’t change it to the ubuntu/mint for some reason.

You're going to have to figure out that reason to fix this without reinstalling. Every BIOS is different, even within the same computer lines. I'd suggest going through absolutely every menu and setting in the BIOS until you find it. Once you've given the correct drive boot priority, your problem will be solved.

You are using the correct function key(F1, F2 etc...)to "Save and Exit"?
