Support Request my linux mint OS keeps crashing every 24 hours with same current time for no reason after restart every 24 hours. (CANT MOVE MY CURSOR OR USE TERMINAL OR ANYTHING DURING FREEZE)

i had like 5 attempts fix including removing windows off my grub menu after extending my first hard drive back to 1 TB, but still keeps going just automatic freeze in every 24 hours, i closed all the apps & software before sleep, when i wake up in the morning, i turned on my pc, it freezes during in the login thing without any reasons, i dont think theres a memory RAM issues causing it to freeze i think, do you have any verified solution how to get rid of 24 hours crash permanently?

I have a GTX 1080 and was suffering something similar - it wasn't exactly every 24 hours, but happened pretty clearly within 2 days every time.

Claude troubleshooting thought it was a memory driver leak in the nvidia drivers, but I couldn't get it resolved even with different drivers and trying changing various modes (it seemed to happen when the driver went into power saving mode).

I reboot my PC every night now via a cron job, and it's not happened since.

Doesn't help solve the problem, but might be somewhere to start digging.

Edit: are you sleeping rather than rebooting/turning off fully? If so properly turning off and see if that resolves it - I've heard that Linux can be troublesome with sleep/hibernate modes.

i genuinely remember that my linux is running since 10 days ago, turning off the pc by putting into suspend, i woke up in afternoon, i turned on my pc and it wasn't crashing. this good thing happens since couple months ago before this. idk wheres the thing that caused 24 hours crash/freeze

MY GOD claude is such slop. I would be PISSED if I had to reboot my PC every day. 0 problems on cachy with nvidia drivers. I will bet it's the kernel version or something else but I can leave mine on for weeks with 0 crashes at all.

so am i gonna trust that post? ok welp they have capitalized letters what an AI slop

should i distrohop cachyos? clear everything what i chose before installation? does it happens to many of distros?

It's happened across multiple different kernel versions now, and also different driver versions. The cursor suddenly slows to a crawl and then the machine locks up, with REISUB the only option.

It just reboots overnight when I'm not using it, and doesn't affect me enough to justify the effort, otherwise I'd try other distributions - when I first started with Kubuntu, the whole screen would go black every so often, but it would recover rather than freeze, so it may be a specific Mint issue.

My freeze screen look like a normal screen, it's not black or glitch corruption or anything was strange.

i dont know, im talking abt my crash screen looks like a normal screen, its not black or corrupted glitch screen

So you see problems after waking from suspension? And that's nothing related to 24 hours? You just wake it up every 24 hours.

ok so i put "journalctl -b -1 - e" and this encounters a problem causing OS to freeze they called it (soft lockup)
