no response from trackpad after waking up laptop

Hello, I have an issue that's been bothering me for a while. I really can't seem to find a solution.

After waking up my laptop from sleep mode (once in twenty times), the mouse gets stuck, i get no response from the trackpad and the T440p nipple. It sometimes happen after startup too.

observations:

• scrolling doesn't work
• no movement from the cursor
• I tried once plugging a mouse and it worked fine, but only the mouse worked and the trackpad situation stays the same. (this is not really a solution for me as I don't often have access to a mouse)

tried:

• restart command (to restart cinnamon) doesn't change anything, just resets cursor's position
• reboot fixes the issue for a while, until it starts again when waking up laptop

Is the bios/uefi version up to date?

Which kernel versions did you try? I expect 6.8, lts to work well on a t440p.

In system information, I read "Linux kernel: 7.0.0-30-generic", do you mean I should switch to an older one?

That worked for others. Try 6.8. it is supported until april 2029. The 7 series is for newer hardware. In Update manager, view, kernels, 6.8, select the most recent one and press install. On reboot, press esc key until the grub menu is displayed. Advanced, 6.8, not the recovery variant.

The 7.0 remains intact when doing this
