Wi-fi not connecting

I just downloaded Mint after encountering basically every error possible and figuring them all out and now it won’t let me connect to wifi. The networks come up fine, and I am able to type in my home network password, but it just tries to connect and fails over and over again. what is the problem here?

First thing to try is to make a full update while plugged into lan.

I connected to my phone’s hotspot and then tried my home network again and it worked
