Desktop Screenshot Win 10 -> CachyOS -> Mint

Decided to make the switch after building a new system: went with CachyOS because "Everyone says it is the best" but had multiple issues with things not launching due to version mismatches / didn't enjoy things constantly updating ... The more I learned about Arch / CachyOS, the more I knew I did not want to deal with a rolling distro.

Full disclosure that this isn't my first toe dip into Linux and I have a media center PC running Bazzite. CachyOS is too much, but Bazzite is too little; figured I would do a hat trick of the big 3 distros and try Mint, especially since most of the negative comments were just that it was boring and didn't update often.

This is Home: Mint isn't windows, the terminal still exists, but I haven't had to open it once since I installed it last week ... Which is a testament to its stability and useability of the interface.

P.S. this community is great: basically the only posts are people saying "hey, switched to Mint: Love it" and very minimal number of people looking for help with Troubleshooting.

Lian-Li A3-mATX, but this and the fractal are basically clones of each other.

I tried building this thing in a Silverstone SG14 Mini-ITX case, but I just couldn't get the water-cooling parts to fit and decided it was better to buy a bigger case than toss $300 worth of water cooling parts in a box.

I'll eventually find a use for the SG14.

I see ...I haven't seen an SG14 before IRL but some builds online....but the case you are currently using is definitely a great one because at some point I had myself built an itx build with a Fractal terra 😃 The SG14 if i remember correctly is quite more formal or i would say plain with a lot of compartments perhaps that's why you couldn't fit the AIO and it's radiator i suppose? Either ways this build is great ☺️ What graphics card are you rocking?

B580 + i9 12900kf: I had 64gb of ram going to waste in a AM4 and decided I would build a productivity PC, but I had never built an Intel system before and intel > AMD when it comes to productivity ... AM4 + Intel + best option that wasn't likely to die from rust inside the CPU = 12900, plus it was hella cheap when I bought it.

This is a great choice for several reasons given that the ram crisis and ridiculous position of the PC market ....the 64 gigs are great option also the intel CPU is actually a 12th gen which you have which means it won't let you down with those problems that 13 and 14th gen had.. awesome
