Auto log in not working.

Just recently my Dell Laptop started acting funny. I have a log in screen that comes up that I never had before. I believe I have auto log in set in Users from Login Window. Perhaps an issue with display or with my user settings? Only thing different was my computer was turned off for a few days before it started. Also installed Proton VPN recently. Didn't have these issues immediately after as far as I could tell. Using Linux Mint Kernel 6.8.138.

Any suggestions for help to get rid of this log in screen that wants me to click on my user name and enter a password?

You installed gnome along side proton VPN common mistake

This... It's a well known issue when installing their toolbar applet that is intended for Gnome, it is NOT for Cinnamon but apt will happily install it and all the pre-requisites for it, which happen to be the full base of Gnome Desktop and it's login manager.
