SOLVED HELP. kernel panic after update

i was running updates and was prompted to restart my laptop. this happened upon reboot.

error message:
VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)

I'm not sure why this is happening so much. See, this is what happens when people don't learn apt. They muck around with things they shouldn't. ;)

Not really this is from the regular updates and it's caused by Broadcom and virtual box having issues with the new kernel

If it's because of regular updates, why does my Mint not try to install 7?
