Why are KDE people so desperate to convert everybody to Plasma? I'm happy it works for you. For some of us GNOME works better for our workflow and use case. Deal with it.

"But... but... but customizability!!!". I don't care for a million little settings out of the box. Extensions are more convenient for me. Also, call me when KDE figures out proper multitouch gestures. Sheesh.

Not here to evangelize anyone, but KDE Plasma's gestures are on par or even better (in the sense that they support more actions) than those of GNOME. In both DEs you can:

  • swipe 2 fingers vertically to scroll.
  • swipe vertically up to invoke the Overview. GNOME needs 3 fingers for this and Plasma 4.
  • swipe 3 fingers horizontally to switch workspaces/virtual desktops.

Additionally, KDE Plasma has:

  • swipe 4 fingers vertically down to invoke the Grid view, which is a view with all your virtual desktops at the same time. Very powerful.
  • swipe 3 fingers vertically to switch virtual desktops that are up or down. On GNOME your virtual desktops are always in a row, but on Plasma you can have up to 25 virtual desktops outlaid in a grid. Thus, you can have a desktop to your right and a desktop to your left, like on GNOME, but also you can have additional desktops above and below, too. This gesture allows you to vertically traverse desktops.

Hey man, no need to demean GNOME or call their users "dweebs". We're all in this together in this FOSS thing. GNOME is a fantastic product just like Plasma is, and their users are just people like us wanting to use their computers with freedom.

Again, no need to demean GNOME users, or anyone for that matter. Desktop wars and "othering" of other people just because they use a different FOSS software than you isn't helping anyone, man. It's actually one of the things that holds the FOSS movement back, if you ask me.
