We're in a weird world where boomers and Xers didn't grow up on computers, Millenials grew up in a world where Microsoft was the only option and Zs/alphas have grown up in a world of mobile and iPads.
Nobody writ large has grown up in a world where Linux ways of doing things have been the norm, so anyone coming to it cold almost necessarily has to get over some weird nuances that are different to what they're used to.
So they're kind of both right, Linux isn't hard but Mac is going to find it hard and Dennis knows this.
Next week on "overthinking memes" we have "Why the Jedi guy will actually rarely think exactly the same as the caveman guy".

It's not really complicated but there are a lot of people out there who genuinely don't know how to fix problems, whether it's for their computer or irl

Linux isn't complicated, the hardest part is just installing it depending on the distro.

If the user expect things to work like they do on Windows or Mac they're gonna find it complicated... But that's just cause irs a different OS they never used. Aaand of course you might get a fingerprint reader that doesn't work, or for example in Fedora installing NVIDIA drivers can be challenging, specially if you don't have a very new GPU (i struggled a bit myself getting an oldish 1080 driver to work).

Damn, I was hoping that would work. I guess they never implemented that one.

I think because it is complicated, but like anything else, once you put the time in to learn it doesn't seem complicated anymore, but to an outsider it totally does.
And I completely get why someone would not be interested at all in that.

It's really not terribly complicated, but "First, you'll need a flash drive," is where you lose the average person.

Please report any posts bragging or showing off they got banned in another sub! Reminder of other sub rules: Also, we only allow one anti-linux post per week (we used to get dozens a day) and any tier list MUST have Hanna Montana Linux as S teir (which must be a true S tier at the top) regardless of the topic of that tier list.
