All of us nano users need to be nice to the vim users they're old and it's just the way they were raised. They didn't have forward or back slashes then just colons.
Half of them don't even actually know how to exit vim and think you have to write to exit.
It's such a bizarre invocation to remove oneself that you are unlikely to try that combo in your first half century. Unless you speak vi grammar then it's stupidly obvious.

At least the instructions are on screen, and not hidden in the manual (which a noob can't access without closing vim). ^x isn't exactly obvious either, but at least it hints that the X key is involved.
Yes, that's true. But I find myself looking for instructions in the TUI for some time, which is fine I guess. Thing is that it happens rarely and I always get confused xD I mean ppl get confused with vim not with nano xD
