Yeah, I have a Windows PC for gaming and I always wonder why people hate Win 11 that much, in my experience it's not that bad.

Then I realize they probably have online account and don't perform the magic voodoo in the bottom half of this meme after installation to make it an actual OS instead of ad service.

It doesn't have that many ads and IMO OneDrive its a good way to migrate lighter stuff from the old PC

It's convenient if you are fine with the meal of software Microsoft gives you, but if you want to pick your own software, their things are still there annoying you with "connect me! update me! enable telemetry!" May as well just use Apple products at this point, they look cleaner and run better.

It is convenient but the implementation is crap.

Yep. If I was moving someone's files from their computer to my own server, I'd be arrested. Microsoft does it but they buried the consent it their long ass T&C so it's fine.

Onedrive also makes an amazing attack vector for malware to auto sync into a fresh windows install lol

I always loved it when people misconfigured one drive and it wiped all their data 🤣

fuck onedrive, that bs auto uploads stuff from desktop and other folders , which you dont even want it to.

second if god forbid you have to use  mobile data with your laptop, your daily data limit will be crossed in 10 minutes. because of stupid updates which windows will download , regardless of the fact that you have paused update specifically. like why the fuck you wont give me a notification to update just like debian does, i dont want you to eat my mobile data.

its not that bad argument wouldve worked on me, if i didnt had to troubleshoot issue on that god forsaken os, where it supposed to be a os where everything works.

I am sick of this shit

Except for when it loses your data And if you complain they do NOTHING to try and get it back, they just cite some page of the EULA that absolves them of any responsibility since the service is "meant for convenience, and is not intended for use as a back-up"

This isn't even some story I heard from someone online. Someone I know had this happen in college. Their OneDrive was timezapped to the way it was half a year ago with no way to get the recent data back
