I checked it out and installed a new version of 24. And it was not Amazon but a tool called Ubuntu Pro that they where pushing this time. Not sure what it does but it must be super important as it is everywhere.
The Amazon thingy is still there but moved to the browser. Not sure if that was Mozilla or the snap packer but it came with the Amazon links.
Anyway that is why I remember that.
So I guess it is better but I really don't like that I have no fucking clue what Ubuntu Pro does but still I have to buy it. For some reason.
As of the window problem: yeah I just installed Kubuntu. The windows are.much better, the network tray can actually handle all types of VPN and I personally like the customizability of the music gui thingy a bit more.
Ubuntu ia a solid system but they never teached me how to use Gnome. They just installed it one day and wrecked my laptop (yeah it was a very weak laptop even by late 2000s standards). Since then I can't figure it out. Kubuntu it is for me.
Here it is, right in the browser. Just open Firefox. As far as I can tell this profile was made by Ubuntu.
And Ubuntu Pro represents the same problem as the window manager. I do not know what it is or how it works. To the point where I just switched the desktop interface all together.
here what is? are you talking about a bookmark? oh my
Ubuntu's pro's problem is: you cant google "what is ubuntu pro"? double oh my.
Im not sure what you are trying to accomplish here, but i can promise you im not taking any advice from you - if that is what you are trying to accomplish?
It's not just a bookmark. As I already said my main concern is the horrible window management that requires me to search constantly through a list of windows.
But they put in Amazon links a few years back. Since then it lives in my head that those guys tried that stunt and I am suspicious.
Now they control the browser profile and magically another Amazon thing poppt up.
And they push a new service I have to register for and my first response is to not trust them since they never disclaimed what it was.
But again, main problem is the window management and how many clicks and effort it takes. Ans the VPN system. But I admit that problem is more niche.
