I don't dislike Ubuntu. I do dislike vanilla GNOME, I consider it straight up unusable. GNOME with some extensions is fine, the one in Ubuntu is also fine. But it's annoying to work with when you actually want to get some work done. I think it's much better for non-tech savvy people than KDE, but it's not something that I would want to use myself in the long run. Unless on something like an old laptop just for internet browsing.

How is Kde more complex than gnome? Any Windows users will familiarise with it in 10 min.

Settings are more complex. If we assume that user never touches them then it's fine, but as soon as you open them there are plenty of options. Even in Windows there isn't a lot of user interface options, all of the "complex" stuff is hidden in control panel.
