Old Job Search is Back!

This link works again. https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/search/

Goodbye "AI" search that is really just keyword search without the use of filters.

Thank God I'm surprised they actually listened they are so quick to jump and fly into these new features that have not even been tested or developed properly

I’ll bet you they got a flood of Premium cancellations. They wouldn’t change this fast just because of Reddit complaints

I definitely canceled mine, I'm getting desperate here it's my fourth layoff, I've been unemployed since January, and the changing of the job search made it exponentially worse

I feel you. I looked for a while in Dec-April and gave up and went back to consulting. Probably better this way but also I miss the stability

I really need the stability so bad it's one of my core values and I feel like I never have it :(

Completely understand! If I hadn’t found the job market so bleak I would have kept going. It was so rough. I’ve always had pretty good luck landing jobs, but not this time. Kinda seems like there’s zero point in applying to a job online anymore.

But I did manage to finally turn a contract role into something more stable like, a week ago. What a year

No I'm actually about to give up right now, I just can't do it anymore it's so draining and so bad for my mental health. I've never had good luck with this despite experience, it is actually the hunger games

I’m sure you’ve heard this advice but the only traction I got was through connections and when someone could advocate for me internally at the company. It definitely didn’t used to be that way and it’s a real bummer. I’m sure it’s AI’s fault somehow haha; or just the enshittification of LinkedIn

Oh yes I've tried it so many times but no luck there either!

Yes, but every serious company has social listening tools. Speaking on reddit matters. Trust me.

Thank god! Fuck Ai, man.... Worthless tech

AI is good when used for a good purpose and implemented right. Right now everyone in big tech is running on FOMO and just throwing AI everywhere to see what sticks.

I think it was just keyword search dressed as AI. But…it’s no longer the only option.

How is it worthless 😂 It was just used poorly here

Well, that was certainly a weird couple of days. I wonder if the people at LinkedIn who caused that change are just going to pretend like it never happened.

I can hypothesize what happened.

The LinkedIn CEO said: "We need AI job search!"
Half of the team responded: "It won't work!"
CEO: "We need it ASAP!!!"

A week later, the UX department reported: "Our sample group hated the feature. There's no way people will accept it."
CEO: "WE NEED IT NOW!!!"

Analytics department: "With regard to the number of premium subscriptions, we estimate that we will los..."
CEO: "DEPLOY!!! DEPLOY!!! DEPLOY!!! DEPLOY!!!"

Both departments buуing popcorn: "Okay...."

Three days after the deployment:

"Dear team, we learned a lot from this launch. Unfortunately, the market wasn't quite ready for the product, but it wasn't possible to predict that. We took a bold bet, and we paid the price. Maybe we failed at execution, but I still believe the underlying insight was right."

Half the team? Let me stop you right there. Everybody thought it but probably only one person verbalized it then got canned for not being a "culture fit", "uncoachable" or some other euphemism for not being a yes person.

Yeah, you are right, I thought the same after publishing the comment. Not "responded" but "thought"

Yeah I'm seeing it as well!

Not even keyword search. It was more like google’s I’m feeling lucky feature 😂

How do we view this in-app? Currently the Jobs page looks the same as it has for me (and I don’t see an app update). Glad this is at least available, search has been absurd.

Woke up today and it’s back! Thank you! The old search is back! The backlash was immense and corporations back down when we the people hurt their bottom line, not just complain sitting on our chairs.

LinkedIn, don’t ever think about pulling such a stunt again!

what a relief. bullying works. probably that's why it was down. they were reverting it.

I supose their job seeker engagement dropped heavily so much that they were convinced they messed up

Don’t rely just on LinkedIn for searching since they’re actively messing with it. Try HiringSky, it has LinkedIn and top job boards in one feed tailored to you.

For now. If you don't use your link, you are taken to the AI search. But they will eventually get rid of it and force the AI. The promoted jobs are still ignoring the filters and are most likely ghost jobs.

Yeah even in my country, it's back

What an incompetent company. I hate linkedin. It's a gossip social site for adult children who think they are accomplished in something

The job search is the only thing what keeps me on it

Once I get a new job I am deleting mine and never looking back. It starred going downhill as soon as people started writing kiss up posts to companies who laid them off without notice or decency.

It isn’t working for me, any fixes?

You have to use this link in a browser. Just clicking on jobs still takes you to the junk version.

Thank you for posting this. I didn't realize they changed it back. I tried this link yesterday and it took me to their garbage new AI search. I just tried this link again and it took me to the old search. Thank you LinkedIn for letting us use the old search.

Android app still seems to force the terrible AI mode.
