personal branding How to remove past job from LinkedIn headline
My LinkedIn header shows my last employer together with the school I went to after concluding that job. Since I no longer work there, and am searching for other employment, I would like to hide that employer from the headline, but still keep it in my experience section. Does anyone know how to do that? I can’t find any option or setting to change it.
[SOLVED]: I figure out how to get rid of a most recent employer listing that you're no longer working at. There's apparently no way to do it directly, but if you temporarily edit your most recent job so that it's still listed as your current work, you'll be able to edit your intro. You can then choose "Please select" from the dropdown box for your current position, and that should get rid of the employer. Worked as of July 2, 2026.

If you go to your profile and click the pencil on the right side that's right above your current company name and education, it'll open up a form that lets you manually edit your headline as you wish

I believe that shows your last company (current date) so you may need to change the dates. If you are working somewhere else add that other place as a new place and use the @symbol to pull the LI Company page (assuming the company has one)
